Missouri Iron and Metal Co., Inc. has been recycling in the St. Joseph, MO area for over 100 years

At the turn of the 20th century, it was common for recyclers to push a cart around town and collect rags,bottles and bones as well as metal and steel in any form.Thus our humble beginnings. Now we have arrived at the 21st century and the times, as well as the world, have changed, and we are still here doing what we do best.

It has always been our philosophy to present our company in a favorable light to our peers in the community, to our fellow businesses and to our city. We are members and have worked closely with the St Joseph Chamber of Commerce in downtown development planning. We have been Gold Coat Supporters for Missouri Western State University, supporters and board members of the St. Joseph YMCA, the MO-KAN Regional Food Bank (which is now Second Harvesters Food Bank) and major annual contributors to the Mayor's Thanksgiving Dinner for which we have won numerous awards including the U.S Mayor's End Hunger Award.

Our recycling center buys all types of scrap metal. We handle most scrap material ranging from aluminum cans to old vehicles and appliances and any metal products in between.

We have access to a large fleet of container trucks and tractor/trailers through our affiliated company:

In addition we also provide drop off and pick up of roll -off containers for projects that have large amounts of scrap metal that will need to be hauled away at the end of, or during that project.

Steel Sales Division

In addition to recycling, We also have the largest selection of new and reusable steel, aluminum and stainless steel in Northwest Missouri.We will service any size customer from the general public to small businesses to large corporations.We can custom order and custom cut whatever you may need for your unique metal projects. Our friendly staff is here to answer any questions and to see that your metal needs are taken care of.

We stock items such as : Angle iron, flat strap, pipe, sheet metal, plate, bar stock, channels, expanded metal, diamond plate, remesh, rebar, beams and square, rectangular and round tubing.

7:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday
7:30 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturdays.
